In that role, he gained a deep understanding of how to shape legislative strategy, navigate complex policy landscapes, and secure critical funding through both the appropriations process and competitive grant mechanisms.

Kyla Shkerich Blair has worked in politics in Washington for more than a decade, having served in city, state and federal government roles that engage with communities across the state. Most recently Shkerich Blair served as the first Chief of Staff for the Washington State Department of Commerce where she oversaw the Director’s office and helped align programs within the agency.
